Homework Students should be reading 30 minutes each night. Additionally, students receive a spelling packet each Monday which is due Friday - 5-10 minutesper night should be adequate to complete the packet. Students will also have math homework Monday through Thursday. Total homework time should be somewhere around 1 hour. Please let me know if homework is regularly taking much longer than that or causing significant frustration. Students will usually not have homework on Fridays. |
EARLY RELEASE Students will have early release every Wednesday. Students will be dismissed at 2:05. No regular school for students on Friday March 9th due to conferences. Get into THE GROOVE! Our after school program is up and running on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons. Students must turn in a permission form from parents before they may attend. Groove ends at 4:30 and bussing is available. In addition to many activities such as arts, science experiments, and sports, Groove offers an extremely helpful homework session where students may get help for class work. Don't miss it! |

Links!
Feel free to click on the "links" on the left of this page. You will find a broad range of web sites students can use to practice their basic skills. Recommended IXL categories for math: Currently - all of C (decimals) and L1, 2,3,5,6,7 - basic fraction review. Also all M categories. Students should know all K goals (greatest common factors, lowest common multiplies), and all of A (place values), F (multiplication), and H (division). For students wanting more challenge: try sections Q, R, S, T, U, V, and Y - algebra, graphing, proportions. Be sure to check outTumblebooks and Tumblebooks Readables. Terrific site for reading practice at levels K-12. Includes many books which also have AR tests in our library. Other fun activities to do with the books also. Check it out! |
